"Broken Branches" by Virginia Acquaro Slechta 

First time author, Virginia Acquaro Slechta is a retired school teacher of 34 years. Writing a book was not on her radar until the search for family revealed so many unbelievable events. With the encouragement and support of her husband, whose family Broken Branches is based on, she eventually agreed to create a journal for the family. The journal quickly evolved into this novel. Virginia realized Broken Branches was not only a story that was meant to be written down, it was a way to honor Buddy, the main character and her father-in-law, whom she never got to meet.
